From 2 to 5 October 2025, Ischgl will once again be transformed into a stage for top-class music, extraordinary concert experiences and surprising sound moments. The third edition of "Ischgl Classics" will bring classical music with an open, cross-genre approach to new spaces and unusual settings - from a gondola to a stable to a night-time open-air stage. Visitors can expect a four-day festival full of intense listening experiences and intimate encounters with music and art.
Whether in the floating sound space of a gondola, at a candlelight concert in the village church, a stable concert or between a Mozart menu and jazz in the Silvretta Therme Ischgl - the "Ischgl Classics" festival breaks with conventions and opens up new perspectives on classical music. The event invites you not only to listen to classical sounds, but also to experience them in a completely new way amidst impressive mountain scenery, regional cuisine and contemporary art. The focus is not only on renowned ensembles and soloists, but also on playing with space, atmosphere and emotion. The Kammerakademie Potsdam, which was honoured as "Orchestra of the Year" in Germany in 2022, provides the majority of the festival formations.
Festival kicks off at lofty heights
On Thursday, 2 October 2025, the gondola concerts in the Silvretta cable car will ensure a particularly personal start to the festival. Between 14:00 and 16:00, guests will experience short musical performances in a floating atmosphere - very private, very close. In the evening from 19:00-21:30, the "Vienna Brass Connection" promises an unforgettable kick-off in the event hall of the Silvretta Therme Ischgl with rousing energy and the highest virtuosity. The members come from renowned orchestras in German-speaking countries (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna State Opera, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Volksoper, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Graz Philharmonic Orchestra, WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Bavarian State Opera) and bring with them a repertoire that reflects the entire spectrum of life - loud, quiet, cheerful and melancholy.
Long Night of the Arts - a village dedicated to music
Friday from 18:00-24:00 is all about the "Long Night of the Arts". The village centre of Ischgl is transformed into a multifaceted art area with concerts, installations and an exhibition. Whether on the open-air stage, at "Mittendrin-Konzerte" concerts in the rehearsal room or at the candlelight church concert - classical music, contemporary art and regional creativity merge here to create a multi-sensory overall experience.
From the Stable Concert to Jazz Night
The programme continues on Saturday at 16:00 with a concert in the Hotel Post Ischgl stables. Afterwards, "Mozart's Notenküche" will bring a culinary-musical fusion to the stage in the Grill Lounge of the Silvretta Therme Ischgl: award-winning chef Martin Sieberer will serve dishes from Mozart's time, while presenter Thomas Lackner and the festival ensemble will guide you through an enjoyable, musical evening. The Jazz Night starts at 8.30 pm: trumpeter, singer and entertainer Simon Cede will get the party going with rousing rhythms and melodies and guarantee an unforgettable finale. The event takes place in the Grill Lounge and in the outdoor pool area of the Silvretta Therme Ischgl.
Sound walk with a change of perspective
To round off the festival, the Soundwalk invites you to take a musical walk through Ischgl on Sunday at 11.00 am. Participants will experience surprising performances in unexpected places before the festival draws to a close with an enjoyable finale.
