Kappl will be the venue for three major freeride events in 2025. The Freeride Junior World Championships, the Open Faces Freeride Contests and the Dutch Freeride Championships will bring together up-and-coming talent, international pros and national competitions in the Tyrolean mountains.

Freeride Junior World Championships in Kappl
From 12 to 16 January 2025, the best freeride talents in the 15 to 18 age group will meet in Kappl for the Freeride Junior World Championships. Over 15 nations will be represented and the participants will demonstrate their skills on the challenging slopes of the Kappl ski resort. Technical skills, line choice and control of speed and jumps on unprepared terrain will be assessed. The competition is regarded as a career springboard for young athletes looking to enter the international freeride scene.
Open Faces Freeride Contests - part of the Qualifier Tour
From 24 to 26 January 2025, Kappl will host the Open Faces Freeride Contests, a competition that plays an important role as part of the Freeride World Qualifier Tour. Experienced athletes from all over the world will be competing for the crucial points needed to take part in the Freeride World Tour. The competition is characterised by challenging slopes and a wide range of line options. In addition to the sporting challenge, the focus is on performance in changing snow conditions. With its alpine topography, Kappl offers ideal conditions for this international competition.
Dutch Freeride Championships as part of the Poederbaas Festival
Between 15 and 22 March 2025, Kappl will be the venue for the Dutch Freeride Championships, a national competition that is part of the Poederbaas Freeride Festival. Around 100 skiers and snowboarders - from amateurs to professional athletes - will compete against each other. In addition to the championship races, the participants and spectators will be offered an extensive supporting programme, including workshops, community activities and evening events. The Dutch Freeride Championships not only offer exciting competitions, but also promote dialogue within the freeride community.
