The weather-determining high pressure system with its center over the North Sea will slowly move over our region from the west as the week progresses and then move towards Eastern Europe, bringing a mild, foehn-like southerly current to the Alpine region from Sunday. The weather will therefore remain predominantly sunny until Saturday, with at most a few harmless clouds appearing from time to time, but these will do little to dampen the sunshine. While the partly brisk north wind at high altitudes will keep temperatures relatively cool in the mountains until Thursday, it will weaken on Friday and at the same time it will also become noticeably milder in the mountains. The frost line will be around or even above 3000m above sea level at the weekend.
