Weather forecast for Kappl
How’s the weather?
Winter will return to the valleys as a distinct cold front will move in overnight into Thursday. Behind the front, we will experience a very windy and damp, cold northerly orographic lift on Thursday itself and overnight into Friday, bringing further heavy snowfall, particularly along the mountains toward the northern edge of the Alps. The weather will improve on Friday, though the cold will persist. Clouds will clear up, especially in the mountains. It is not yet certain whether high fog will form in the valleys due to a strong, icy-cold northeasterly wind. However, wherever the skies clear, Saturday night will definitely be icy-cold. Saturday itself looks set to be a temporary high-pressure period, with bright sunshine on the horizon. At the same time, the frost will ease, but there won’t be a significant rise in temperature yet. Overall, it will remain late-winter cold, and thicker, partly high-fog-like clouds will mix back into the weather pattern on Sunday. However, new precipitation, with a snow line around 1200 meters above sea level, isn’t expected again until Monday.
