A high-pressure system is settling over Central Europe and will dictate weather conditions in the Alpine region until Thursday. Bright sunshine against an often cloudless sky and a steady supply of warm air from higher altitudes will continue to give the weather an early summer feel. The frost line, sitting at around 3,000 metres above sea level, is also contributing to this. This spell of warm, fine weather will come to an end with the arrival of a cold front on Friday. The snow line will drop well below 1,500 metres above sea level. Although the weather will improve again towards the weekend, temperatures will remain well below average with a mix of sun and clouds.
