High air pressure will determine the weather in the Alpine region over the coming days. However, we are now finding ourselves on the periphery of the high-pressure system over Western Europe, where a north-westerly to northerly flow is becoming stronger over the mountains. Up to and including Monday, a few harmless patches of cloud may continue to appear alongside the sun, occasionally dimming the sunshine slightly. Temperatures will still feel like late summer on Sunday, but at the start of the new week, slightly cooler air from the north will reach us. However, a noticeable drop in temperature is not on the cards; we will simply see autumnal temperatures in keeping with the season, though they will remain quite mild. Temperatures will change little until the middle of the week, but the air is likely to become significantly drier as the high-pressure system approaches. The result will be bright sunshine against a cloudless sky.
