R1a Route Vermunt 1: Baggerloch

Medium-difficulty trail from Galtür Wirl to Vermunt Baggerloch

Vermunt route 1 „The flooded gravel pit“ starts direct in Wirl and proceeds to the first half of the Kleinvermunt, up to the flooded gravel pit. The breath-taking scenery and the mountains covered in deep snow in this unspoilt lateral valley are what make this route so special.

 

The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.

Free parking at the valley station of the Birkhahn cable car

With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Galtür Wirl/Birkhahnbahn
