Intro
Medium-difficulty circular hike to Sesslad Alpe and Niederelbehütte
Description
From the village square the route, as outlined in tour K.4, takes you to Ruhestein Kapelle. Above the chapel, left at the crossing, the hike heads along Seßladbach to route no. 5 up to Untere Seßladalpe. The path then proceeds through Seßladtal, providing views to the Oberen Seßladalpe and Niederelbehütte, which at 2.300 m is part of the Verwall mountain range. A waterfall and Seßsee beneath Niederelbehütte also enhance the impressive mountain panorama.
Return section: follow the sign-posted Kieler Weg to Diasbahn. From there the gondola takes you back into the valley. Please note the cable car operating hours for your return journey!
Arrival
The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.
Parking
Underground parking at the community center.
Further parking in Kappl village at the Pardeck (opposite Camren's Pizzagrill) or below the bakery Wechner.
Public transport
With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Kappl Dorf
