The starting point of the hike is the Silvrettabahn and Fimbabahn mountain station. From there, the trail leads either by foot or comfortably by chairlift to the Flimjoch. The route continues towards the Greitspitze, which at 2,871 metres is one of the most striking viewpoints in the region. The hike then leads along the Austrian-Swiss border via the Innere Viderjoch to the Salaaser Kopf at 2,744 metres. The view of the imposing Fluchthörner mountains, which form the end of the Fimbatal valley, is particularly impressive. The route continues along the old ski trail, past one of the historic Zollhütte to the Zeblasjoch at 2,539 metres. From there, the last section leads down to the Heidelberger Hütte lodge, an ideal place to stop for refreshments. The return journey can be made either by walking through the Fimbatal valley or by taking the lodge taxi.
