Description
A long and partially exposed trail with some uphill sections. Only suitable for cyclists with an appropriate fitness level. The compact gravel road weaves its way along the mountain ridge, always following the border. A high level of fitness is required – some of the ascents are so steep that you will need to push your bike a bit. After the Greitspitzbahn chair lift, a top class trail offers an unbelievable feeling of freedom. The route follows the ridge along to the Salaaser Kopf at over 2,700 m altitude. And then the downhill part begins. It is clear why the smugglers chose this route: you encounter virtually nobody here, apart from a few cows. A leisurely forest trail then runs back to the Alp Trider Sattel mountain station. The Trider Sattel (page 38) trail again offers plenty of downhill fun and leads to the destination, the Alp Trida. Here the Flimsattelbahn chairlift transports you back to the trail start point. Alternatively, the route can be lengthened by taking the Duty Free Ride Laret-Samnaun (page 44).
