The starting point is at the Alblittkopf cable car at 2,640 metres. Right from the beginning, it’s time to build up some momentum. A short drag section leads to the actual descent – here skiers push off and use the skating step to pick up speed once more. The terrain then opens up and the view reveals the impressive Malfon valley.
After the first short drop, wide, perfectly groomed slopes begin. This is where the Lattenabfahrt shows its sporty character: plenty of space, generally pleasantly intermediate, and ideal for carving long, fast turns into the snow. Carving enthusiasts in particular will enjoy it, as the generous pistes offer perfect conditions for dynamic turns.
Those who pause for a moment will spot the “Stoamandla” rock figures above the piste on the right – from here, freeriders occasionally venture into the open terrain.
The further you descend towards the valley, the more challenging the route becomes. The slopes grow steeper and more athletic, yet remain manageable. Even average skiers can handle the descent well – provided they have solid technique and a bit of stamina.
The best conditions are often found in the late morning, when the snow is usually grippy – ideal for a long and enjoyable descent.
