The Paznaun - Ischgl Region owes its abundance of water to an impressive variety of natural bodies of water. Whether a refreshing mountain lake, a soothing mountain stream or an impressive waterfall - water characterizes the landscape and life in Tyrol. In addition to its beauty, the water in Paznaun is of unrivaled quality. The central water supply in Ischgl transports the crystal-clear mountain water from springs and deep wells via elevated tanks on the Kalvarienberg and the Prenner to the households and wells in the districts.
The team around water master Othmar Wechner is responsible for the quality of the water, regularly checking all springs and pipes to ensure the quality of the drinking water. Sophisticated filtration systems and nature itself keep the water clear and pure. With a capacity of about 2.5 million liters in the drinking water system, the region is well supplied and residents and guests can drink tap water without hesitation.
We feel the importance of water especially on hot summer days, when a cool stream refreshes us, or in winter, when we relax surrounded by warm water. What is a luxury for some is a matter of course in Paznaun: pure water that revitalizes body and soul. When you're out and about in the region, you can fill up your bottle or drink directly from one of the numerous (labeled) fountains. It's a small privilege that characterizes the Paznaun - Ischgl Region and allows you to experience its closeness to nature.
