Between cool Atlantic air over northern Europe and warm subtropical air masses over the Mediterranean, a so-called air mass boundary will run from southern France via southern Germany to Poland on Saturday. We will remain on the warm side of the weather for the time being, but mugginess and lability will increase the risk of showers and thunderstorms in places. The sun will only shine occasionally. A striking cold front will reach us towards Pentecost Sunday, which will cool things down considerably at all altitudes. The main focus of the rain will probably shift eastwards quickly during the course of the day. On Whit Monday, the weather and temperature trend will clearly point upwards again. An area of high pressure will extend its feelers towards us from the west and dry out the air masses sustainably. As a result, the early summer warmth will return.
