Ischgl-Tour 14: Buerkelkopf

Ischgl Talstation Silvrettabahn - Bürkelkopf

Take the Silvrettabahn or the Fimbabahn, then the Flimjochbahn to get to the 2.750 m Flimjoch, where the Austria-Switzerland boundary proceeds. From there follow the route to Bürkelkopf, whose summit cross sits enthroned at 3.032 m. This tour proceeds through high alpine terrain and requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. Return section: same route back.

The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.

With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Ischgl Silvrettabahn
